Elevate your living space with the timeless appeal and sophisticated comfort of this exquisite contemporary chair.
The Chair Verplanck is inspired by an American-made settee (circa 1785) exhibited in The Met’s Verplanck Room, a pre-Revolutionary period room in the Museum’s American Wing. These settees, with their high backs and low arms, are designed for multiple sitters, embodying the refined social customs of the time. The original settee is part of the only remaining suite of 18th-century New York City furniture that once belonged to the influential Verplanck family.
